Apprentice Electrician (Plymouth)
- Hours: 39 hours per week between 0800 to 1900 (Mon-Sat, (must be available for Saturday work when required)). Our normal working hours are Monday to Friday 0800 to 1700, however on occasions we work over at short notice and are also required to cover Saturdays.
- Field-based across Plymouth and surrounding areas (own transport preferred)
- Apprenticeship Duration – 48 Months (Course – Level 3)

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic First Year Apprentice Electrician to join our team of dedicated professionals. At Goodwin Electrical, our vision is to create great homes together. As an Apprentice Electrician at Goodwin Electrical, you will work under the supervision of experienced electricians, acquiring hands-on experience in installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems, while developing a comprehensive range of skills:
- Installation: Learn to install electrical services such as lighting and socket circuits, full domestic rewires, emergency lighting, and heating systems.
- Repairs: Carry out day-to-day repairs, including fault finding and troubleshooting electrical issues.
- Inspection and Testing: Inspect and test electrical installations, ensuring they meet safety and compliance standards, and complete relevant certification.
- College Training: Attend a day release programme at a local college to enhance your theoretical knowledge and practical skills.
- Safety Training: Train in a safe environment adhering to all safety protocols and guidelines. Be able to work at heights.
- Relationship Building: Develop great working relationships within a strong support network, giving you the opportunity to build your confidence and skills.
What you need to be successful:
- Ability to communicate professionally, follow direction and eager to learn.
- Self-driven, with excellent timekeeping and attendance.
- GCSE or equivalent in English and Maths, at C/4 grade or above.
